Kirsten Wächter

Author of our upcoming book, The Beautiful Game: English for Football Soccer. Kirsten has been working as a Business English trainer and materials writer since 1998. Having taught in-company courses for many years, today she focuses on teaching Business Communication, English for specific purposes and intercultural courses. She has been designing her own materials in these fields for online and print publication. She became a football supporter in 1974 during the World Cup in Germany and has been hooked ever since, sharing her knowledge with fellow English teachers in workshops and webinars. If she is not at work or in the stadium, she divides her free time between Germany, Scotland and Sweden.

Philip Riccobono, Ph.D.

Philip authored Baseball English. He has published academic papers on corpus-driven sports vocabulary including baseball and Summer Olympics terms in an effort to identify frequently used language in sports. Philip has worked as an English language lecturer across universities in Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. He has also served as scout for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB) for over 10 years.
